I have finally updated this section. I gotten this information from various websites. Too many to remember. Just whatever I wrote down or remembered while surfing the internet. Childhood
This section will include information from both primary and high school. I don't know much about his childhood, but here's what I do know. When he first started primary school, he felt lonely because he didn't know anyone. Plus, he didn't feel comfortable being in a new surrounding. He remembers telling himself "Do I really have to go to this school from now on!" Because of this, Kyo aways hated new surroundings. However, he's use to being in new places now (probably through touring.) During school, he hated to study and never did any work. He would get into trouble for bringing home bad report cards. When asked what was the first thing he learned, he said swimming. His parents would allow him to go to a pool near his house and take swimming leasons. So far he seems fairly innocent, but like every kid, Kyo had a bad streak to him. He seemed to like to shoplift. He once told how in primary school, he shoplifted chocolate that had a gundam toy with it from a store. The store keeper didn't catch him. However, by chance his mother was there shopping and caught him in the act. He was scolded as soon as he got home. Kyo also said he once stole someone's bicycle just because he wanted to ride around. During high school, he did many jobs. His first job was packing fried chicken bentou. After working there, and seeing how the workers handle the food with dirty hands, he says he doesn't eat much bentou. Kyo isn't much for alcohol either, and is probably due to this incident. When in high school, he lived on the first floor and his parents on the second floor. He would leave his front door open so his friends could stop by. One time they did a drinking game where if you lose a bet, you would have to drink a mixture with about 50% alcohol in it! He said he nearly died! He learned his body isn't very tolerate of alcohol and he can't drink much. But he doesn't really care.



Music Before Dir en grey
When in high school, he turned in a blank exam because he wanted to direct all of his attention to music. At the age of 16, he started his music career as a roadie for the band Kuroyume . Afterwards, Kyo was the singer of a lot of bands, so to not confuse anyone with all the name changes, I will describe them this way:

1st band Gesshouku --> Joined at the age of 17 and went by the name Yoma. The band only lasted half a year.
2nd band Visun --> He changed his name from Yoma to Hotoma.
3rd band Masquerade
4th band Haijin Kurobara Zoku --> Changed name to Kyo, and was his first band with Shinya, and Kisaki (bass).
5th band La:Sadies --> Kyo, Shinya, and Kisaki was joined by Die and later Kaoru. After Kisaki left in January 1997, they asked Toshiya to join and changed the name to Dir en grey!



The Short Wicked Vocalist
Kyo has in the past been asked if he has had any vocal training. To which he would reply no. The reason they would ask... because he has an amazing voice. He can sing an impressive range of notes, either hitting high pitch notes to using his throaty-low, gruff voice. Boy... does he know how to growl! He can also make sounds that range from screams to vomiting noises, to what sounds like he's having an orgasm. Kyo has a very recognizable voice! Besides singing, Kyo is the one who writes all of the lyrics to Dir en grey's songs. He says he will never write a happy song, and they are usually full of stuff like sadism, and suicide/death. He also had a hand at composing some music. He composed the music for such songs as "The Domestic Fucker Family" and "Hades".



Stage Presence And Appearance
When on stage, Kyo is full of enery and it's so hard not to join along. You can really see that he enjoys their lives. It's also amusing to watch the expressions that come across his face. There is definitely something demented going on in his head! Usually by the end of the concert you will see Kyo covered with either fake blood, that disgusting stuff he uses to make it look like he's foaming at the mouth, or what looks like fake puke. He tries so hard to look scary, but in my opinion he just looks cute! Now for his style. During his earlier years, Kyo wore a lot of clothing that were a darker twist on traditional Japanese clothing. For example, he'd wear kimonos and would add leather, pvc, corsets, or cyper-esque wiring to it. Usually when he wore kimonos, he would also wear knee-high leather boots. He would also do a twist to traditional-looking suits as well. When not dressed in traditional clothing, he tended to wear a lot of leather. You'd usually see him with a white dress shirt paired with leather pants, a cool tie and/or leather jacket. Or basically anything that is punk-influenced. Accessories he would wear are black gloves, black masks that half covered his face (like a ninja mask), and safetly pins either in his clothing or in his face. He wore heavy makeup that was usually heavy black eyeliner that he would like to draw tears with, and black lipstick that he would later smear across his face. He was also known to paint his face white like a geisha. His hair was usually short and blonde, but I have seen it bright red, a purpley-red, and black for short periods of time. His style now-a-days is less visual. He mainly wears casual clothes or plain suits. He sometimes goes back to more visual wear like his punk outfit in the "Drain Away" PV or his scary looks in "Obscure" and "-Saku-", but nothing extreme like before. He still wears heavy eyeliner, but the makeup has become much less. He sometimes wear his hair long and in a mohawk, but it's still mainly short. He now has a thing for bangs shaped like triangles, and his hair colour ranges from blonde, black, and pink. The lastest accessory he likes to use are those extremely long fake eyelashes!!!



Other
Kyo is not his real name but since he hates his original name Tooru so much he changed it. Kyo was taken from the name of his birth place, Kyoto. He tends to lie a lot in interviews to the point that no one knows what to believe. Examples of this are: He once said his favorite colour is homo, and he also said that his surname was Miyamoto. Kyo HATES to be called kawaii (cute). He sleeps a lot and can pretty much sleep anywhere. He is a very complex man and is hard to understand. That's what makes him so unque! Keep rockin' Kyo!!!
